Hi, my name is Huong. I am Vietnamese and I love to cook for friends and family, especially on weekends when there are no time restraints. I am just un amateur for food photography and have so much to learn. Trust me I am very lazy and pretty clumsy but I realized that cooking and taking photos help me be a little bit less clumsy (still lazy though :-)).
I love Vietnamese food, which is all about subtlety, plenty of aromatic herbs and little heavy cooking. Like all Asian food, Vietnamese flavours have an interesting balance of Hot, Sour, Sweet and Salty by using ingredients like fish sauce, soy sauce, coconut water, lime etc. The only problem is that the food preparation is so time – consuming. The truth is, I don’t make much Vietnamese food, due to time constraints. I’ll try Viet food recipes more often and post more of those.
Apart from Vietnamese food, I love Middle East food too. The way it looks and the way it tastes are so amazing. I have tried many recipes of Middle East food and have never been disappointed.
French is one of my favorite cuisines too. There is a lot of French recipes that emphasize quality, healthy ingredients. French appetizers and desserts are simply mouth-watering and the recipes are not all complicated and time-consuming.
And this is my favorite saying about cooking:
“Good cooking depends on two things: common sense and good taste.
It is also something that you naturally have to want to do well.”
